Mancini Promoted to CFO, Leads Financing Initiatives
Reno, NV January 16, 2018 Aerion, the leader in supersonic technology, has promoted Mike Mancini to Chief Financial Officer. In that position, he will lead fundraising initiatives for Aerion, as well as the coordination of financial activities with Aerion AS2 program participants.
Mancini joined Aerion in 2015 as vice president of financial operations and strategy. He was promoted to senior vice president of finance and corporate development in 2016. He has extensive experience in crafting complex, creative financing solutions, having been involved during his career in transactions totaling $10 billion. He has served in executive roles at Silicon Valley start-ups and as a hedge fund and private equity investor.
Mancini began his career at UBS Investment Bank, advising on capital raising and M&A transactions in the global technology, media, and telecom sectors. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Boston College with a degree in finance and economics.
Aerion, the industry leader in supersonic travel, is pioneering a new generation of efficient, economical, and environmentally responsible supersonic aircraft. The Mach 1.4 AS2 business jet is scheduled to begin flight testing in 2023. Aerion entered into a partnership with Boeing in February 2019 to develop the AS2 and advance the supersonic market. In October 2018, Aerion and GE Aviation unveiled the quiet and efficient GE AffinityTM engine, the first supersonic engine in more than 50 years.
